Demo Test Results for Ed's Price Action EA

Tested on Multiple Currency Pairs in each Demo

(Click on the images below to access the real time results for each demo test)

Different combinations of settings are used in the forward testing results below, but all the tests are trading only the first 6 or 7 hours of the Asian session.

These forward test results don't necessarily reflect the best Ed's Price Action EA has to offer since there are a variety of input combinations.

FinFX and HotForex market maker micro accounts are used in the demos below. Both brokers accept US customers, and use a minimum lot size of .01 on their micro accounts. But my EA's are not broker dependent and will work on most nano, micro, mini, standard, market maker, ECN, STP, non-US and US MT4 accounts.

In the default settings (and in all the demo accounts) the EA is using a optional martingale strategy (which you can adjust and/or turn off), and is only tradng from 22:00 - 03:00 GMT.

Since martingale is turned on in the inputs, when there is a buy signal the EA triggers a initial buy order, and then 4 buylimit orders below it are placed 10 pips apart from one another.

As each buylimit order is triggered the lot size is increased...until a take profit is hit if price retraces 10 pips, and then they all close.

The only time you can get a bad loss is when all the limit orders are triggered and price never retraces, and instead hits stop loss below the last buylimit (or above the last selllimit).

On the demos when you see a dip in the graph this is when all the limit orders were triggered and price hit stop loss and closed them all in loss. It happened one time with USDCAD when there was a huge move with little retracement.

So you don't want to use a huge initial lot size.

Stick with 10 cents a pip initial lot if you have a small balance.

You can download all the preset files used in the demos below in the members area.

Ed's Price Action EA is a very flexible MT4 expert advisor that works with all broker types (ECN, Market Maker, Dealing Desk, Stp, 4 and 5 digit brokers.)

Ed's Price Action EA (default settings out of the package) can be used on multiple currency pairs even if you have a small starting balance because the EA has a optional News Filter input that can be used to tell the EA to avoid trading X hours before and after low, medium or high impact news releases.

If, for example, the EA is loaded on USDCHF, and you have the news filter on true, the EA will monitor news releases affecting USD and CHF currencies.

Low impact, medium impact, high impact news releases, and "speaks" are optional inputs which you can turn on or off.

The EA will only monitor news releases that are affecting the currencies the EA is loaded on.

So if the EA is loaded on EURUSD then it will monitor EUR news releases, and USD news releases.

If you have the EA on every USD pair (EURUSD, USDCHF, AUDUSD….etc., etc.), and no other pairs, and the “MinsBeforeNews” input is set at 720 minutes (12 hours), and there will be a high impact news release affecting USD in 10 hours, then you will get no trades on any USD pair if the time is within 720 minutes (12 hours) of the release.

A comment will appear in the upper left corner of your chart letting you know whether trades can open or not.

Here is an example of how this will appear on your chart:

In the above image "Can Open (NewsFilter): No" means the EA is not within the trading time because of your choice of settings about not entering trades X minutes before a news release.

You will know when the EA is within a trading time when both "Can Open" comments say "Yes".

In the image below there will be two high impact news releases in less then 10 hours. These comments will all appear on your chart if you set the News Filter input to true:

Click the Image to see full chart

The news filter utilizes a Forex Factory Calendar indicator that is installed in the indicators folder automatically when you install the EA.

There is no need to attach the indicator to the chart. The EA will use it internally.

Within the EA you can adjust how many minutes before a low, medium or high impact news release you want the EA to stop trading, and how many minutes after the news release you want the EA to start looking for trades again.

Sometimes it is a good idea to stop trading 15 – 20 hours before a news release if the EA has opened several martingale limit orders. You will want to give the orders a chance to close in profit.

But if the orders open only 3 – 5 hours before a news release the orders may still be open come news release time and may spike into a major loss (if you are using the limit orders) or major wins.

There is also an optional input for telling the EA to close trades X minutes before a news release on a currency pair that will be affected by a news release.

The dotted vertical lines on the chart below reveal past news releases or “speaks” so you can observe the affect certain news releases had on the currency the EA isn loaded on (these vertical lines will show up when you are using the EA with News Filtering on true):

Click Image to See to see full Chart

You can utilize the news filter inputs to avoid trading during news releases as shown in the above image.

When the news filter is on true, and the EA is not trading because of a upcoming news release according to the minutes you set, you will see a comment on the chart that says: Can Trade (NewsFilter): No:

Default Settings

In the default settings in Ed's Price Action EA money management is set at a minimum risk, and other inputs are used to prevent the EA from overtrading (see details below).

So the EA can be loaded on several currency pairs, but the number of opened trades limited.

Ed's Price Action relies of the opening and closing of bearish and bullish candles/bars, and there are 6 optional trade entry point strategies in the inputs which you can utilize for adjusting the EA to enter trades at more probable times for gaining profit.

Ed's Price Action EA works on US and Non-US broker MT4 platforms.

HotForex and FinFX are two Non-US brokers who accept US clients.

Although Ed's Price Action EA will work on any currency pair you can use the time settings in the inputs and days of the week settings, to adjust the EA to trade particular currency pairs during set hours and days.

For example, maybe you want to avoid busy news release hours so you can set the EA to trade only between 17:00 GMT - 21:00 GMT.

Some of the inputs included in Ed's Price Action EA are:

 Magic ID

The magic id can be used when you want to place the EA on the same currency pair more than once. (For example, when using one combination of settings on EURUSD, and then using another combination of settings on another EURUSD chart, you can change the magic number on the second chart etc.).

 Optional Money Mangement and Risk inputs

If Money Mangement is on true the EA will ignore the fixed lot size and will instead choose a lot size based on the rick percent you choose, and your account equity.

 Use Max Orders AllPairs (true/false option)

If this input is on true you can have the EA loaded on several currency pairs, but you can limit the amount of trades you want the EA to open in your account so it does not overtrade.

Use Max Orders (true/false option)

If you put this input on false the EA will work on US broker platforms.

If this input is on true, and max orders buy and sell are both 5, the EA can have up to 5 buy trades, and 5 sell trades from 5 different buy signals and 5 different sell signals.

 Daily Profit Target (true/false option)

Daily Profit looks at the account daily history and the live floating balance. The Daily Profit inputs can be used to choose an amount you want the EA to close all trades at (winners and losers) on every currency pair when you are in profit for the day X dollars above the losses.

Take Profit

Choose your own take profit.

 Stop Loss

Choose your own stop loss.

 Lots

Choose your own lot size.

 Optional Simple Moving Average inputs (true/false option)

If the simple moving average input is on true the EA you can utilize the moving average input and a customized smapips feature where you can select how many pips you want price to be above or below the sma mbefore triggering a sell order or set of selllimit order above or a buy order or set of buylimit orders below the sma.

 Optional Limit Order Martingale Inputs (true/false option)

There are 9 inputs in the limit order section of the inputs which gives you full flexibility for adjusting limit orders.

The limit order inputs can be used to control how many limit orders you want to stack above sell signals, or below buy signals.

You can also control the lot size or lot doubling from limit order to limit order (you can use less then lot doubling such as 1.8, 1.7...1.5 etc.)

You also have full control over limit order expiration time, as well as using or not using a hedge strategy etc.

The purpose of these inputs is to try to catch price on a retracement, and increase the lot size every time a limit order does not have a retracement. When a retracement finally takes place and hits your take profit, all limit order will be closed and you will have a overall profit since the last limit order has a lot size larger than the other limit orders. But this depends on your choice of settings.

Please use proper money management and never choose an initial lot size that is too large for your account balance, especially if you are using the optional martingale limit order feature in Ed's Price Action EA.

 Optional Customizable Inside Bar (Hamari) inputs with Stochastics filtering

These inputs can be used to create your own inside bar (Hamari) sizes so that when an inside bar is detected in stochastics oversold area a buy order will trigger. Or, when an inside bar pattern is detected in the stochastics overbought area a sell order is triggered.

Time Settings (true/false option)

Format: 00:00 - 23:59

If you want the EA to trade the London Session only, and it is 10 am your broker's time when the London Session opens, then put the time settings on true, and put the time settings at 10:00 - 18:00, or how ever long you want the EA to trade.

 CloseAll_TimeEnd input (true/false option)

This input only works when you are using time settings.

For exampl, if time settings are on true and the EA is trading between 17:00 GMT - 21:00 GMT, and trades are triggered during that time, and 21:00 is reached, all trades 9winners and losers) will close at that time, and all untriggered limit order will be canceled/deleted, and new trades won't open again until after 17:00 the next trading day.

 Days of The Week inputs

Trade Sunday (true/false option)

Trade Monday (true/false option)

Trade Tuesday (true/false option)

Trade Wednesday (true/false option)

Trade Thursday (true/false option)

Trade Friday (true/false option)

Reverse (true/false option)

If reverse is true and there is a buy signal a sell order will be triggered instead. And if there is a sell signal a buy order will trigger instead.

News Filter (true/false option)

MinsBeforeNews = 1000 (mins before an event to stay out of trading.)

MinsAfterNews  = 180 (mins after  an event to stay out of trading.)

CloseTradesBeforeNewsRelease = false

MinutesBeforeNewsToCloseTrades = 180

IncludeHigh = true

IncludeMedium = true

IncludeLow = false

IncludeSpeaks = true

If the news filter in on true, and you have speaks on true as well as medium and high impact news releases on true, and low on false, and you have 1000 (minutes) in the MinBeforeNews input and 180 in the MinsAfterNews input, and the EA is loaded on, for example, every USD pair (EURUSD, AUDUSD, USDCAD etc., etc.), then the EA will not open any trades on any USD pair if there is a speaks, or medium or high impact news release, within the next 1000 minutes.

If CloseTradesBeforeNewsRelease is on true and MinutesBeforeNewsToCloseTrades = 180, and trades have opened on any USD pair (where the EA is loaded) prior to the beginning of the 1000 minutes, then those trades will automatically close 180 minutes (3 hours) before the USD news release.
